Planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort can be an awesome task, even for the
veteran visitor. Here are some tips to increase your chances of getting in to the
restaurant you want:

Make your Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR's) as early as possible (up to 180 days
prior to arrival)  Of course, this also means having to plan out what park you'll want to visit
each day so that you avoid a long commute to another park, just to have dinner. One of the
biggest secrets to having fun at Disney is to plan out each day before you get there.

Keep in mind that some popular restaurants "sell out" within minutes of the 180 day lead time.

If a restaurant you want has no availability, try calling the restaurant directly or stopping in on
that day to see if they've had any "no shows". Most will be happy to tell you if they can get
you in. Rather than asking for a reservation, ask if they can seat the number of people in
your party. For example ask, "is it possible for you to seat 2 people?" rather than, "do you
have any reservations for 2 tonight?"

Try asking for an early or late seating time. Sometimes mid-afternoon times are available or
even the last seating time of the night (if you don't mind a late dinner).

Club level resort guests do not get special treatment on dining reservations and it's probably
easier to make your ADR's yourself. Having your concierge host make them for you often
leads to "phone tag" if you're desired times aren't available.

The Advanced Dining Reservation phone line opens at 7 A.M. EST. You will have the best
chance of getting the reservations you want, the earlier you call. Keep in mind that some
restaurants book up by 7:05 A.M., 180 days prior. Cinderella's Royal Table is one example.

Don't get discouraged if you can't get into a particular restaurant, there are enough great
places to dine on property that you're bound to have a great meal somewhere. Sometimes
the best dinners are ones you have sitting on a bench somewhere watching the "World" go
by.

Dining Reservation specialists tend to be very straight forward with guests on the phone and
sometimes just offer "yes" or "no" responses to your questions.  If your restaurant is booked
during your desired time, be sure to ask them if any other times are available. Don't expect
them to offer to check for you, although many will.

Have a list of back up restaurants ready just in case your first choice is not available. See
the  Quick Pick Dining Guide.
