Secrets     Tips     History
Select a Disney Resort over an off-property hotel. The benefits that come with a Disney resort hotel
make it a smart move.

Figure your hotel budget to determine your length of stay and hotel category.

Choose a hotel closest to the attractions that you want to see most.

Consider the theme of the resort in your price range that appeals to you the most and/or the
location.

You may need to decide between more expensive resort hotels with a shorter stay or a less
expensive hotel and longer stay.
Be sure to have your resort hotel reservation on a 14-day courtesy hold to guarantee you will have
somewhere to stay. Changes to your room reservation can be made without penalty during this time.

Check airline official websites for the best fares. Avoid website like Travelocity.com and Expedia.
com to avoid commission fees that will be passed on to you.

If possible, fly on Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Saturday for the best fares.

Remember, once you book your flight, changing it will usually involve a fee, anywhere from $25 to
$100 plus the difference in price for the new ticket.
Choose from Park Hopper, No Expiration, Water Park Fun and More, or the one-park-per-day Base
Ticket.

Decide the length of the admission ticket you will need. Avoid purchasing tickets for days you will
not be in the parks.

Avoid discount ticket scams sometimes found on the Internet.

Purchase admission tickets safely and easily, at either www.disneyworld.com, by calling 407-W-
DISNEY, or an authorized retailer such as AAA.
Make a sketch of the parks you would like to visit each day so that your dining reservations can be
coordinated. Restaurant reservations book up quickly and walk-ups are often not accepted during
busy times.

Decide if any of the Dining Plans are right for you and your party. It can be a real savings if you
plan to dine at least one table service restaurant each day.

Make of list of the table-service restaurants and/or dinner shows that appeal to you with
approximate times you would like a reservation. Reservations can be made when calling to confirm
your hotel or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.  Time is of the essence, especially for popular
restaurants.

Visit the quick pick dining guide to help you choose some of the most popular restaurants.
Now, call (407) W-DISNEY to confirm your vacation. Choose to call rather than book online, this is a
major purchase and opting to speak with a live person is beneficial.

Leave the deposit for your room or package. You may also request to pay in full at this time if you
have booked a package.

If you wish to purchase admission tickets by phone, now is the best time to do so. Disney will keep
your purchase on file for when you check-in to your hotel.

If you want to use Disney’s Magical Express, give the Cast Member the airline you are flying and the
flight numbers.

Explain that you want to make dining reservations and proceed with the list you made. Be as flexible
as possible. If the restaurant is booked, ask what times, if any, are available.
